Lough Derg

Walk Details This walk is based on the route of a Pilgrimage path which has been in use since the 12th Century. Today the route, which is fully sign-posted, extends through an area being managed by Coillte, the Irish Forestry organisation. In addition to its historical interest, the walk also offers exceptional lakeside views of Lough Derg and the surrounding countryside. A number of spurs allow access to view points and sites of historic interest.
Fort Dunreee Military Museum

Fort Dunree Military Museum was first opened to the public in 1986 and has attracted tourists from all over the world ever since.
Malin Head

It is one of the minority sites for observing chough. Fishing and rock angling is also popular in the area.
O'Doherty's Keep

O'Doherty's Keep was part of a Norman castle built in the 1300's of which only the Keep remains.
Colmcille Trial
Milford (Baile na nGallóglach)
Walk Details Although close to the town of Milford, and easily accessed from there, Loch Colmcille is a remote and tranquil location in an area which is rich in history and wildlife. The route to and from Milford is along footpath and quiet roads, whilst the 2.5 km section to the east of the Loch is along a disused road which is not accessible to cars.
